We all love our pets. Whether its dogs, cats or bunnies we always want them to stay fit and fine. Dogs can easily catch many kinds of infectious diseases and so it is essential to provide them necessary vaccination to dogs. The domestic dog’s health is possibly one of the best-studied areas in veterinary medicine, as dogs have a long term bonding with human beings.

Many infectious diseases are prevalent in dogs such as rabies. Genetic diseases are also common in dogs due to the increased attempt to produce individual dog breeds. Hence, we all need to take proper care of dog health and hygiene. There are some diseases and other health problems that are common to both humans and dogs. For instance, both dogs and human beings can have diabetes, epilepsy, cancer or arthritis.

Infectious diseases in dogs are caused by the existence of such organisms like viruses, bacteria, fungi, or parasites. In many cases it is seen that mainly the diseases gets transmitted from dogs to dogs. Among the viral diseases, the most easily spread diseases in dogs is rabies. Rabies is commonly associated with dogs, although in recent years steps have been taken to remove this disease through increased vaccination. Other viral diseases that affect dog health are parvovirus, distemper, infectious canine hepatitis, herpesvirus, and influenza.

With regard to bacteria diseases the name of Leptospirosis comes first. It is a zoonotic disease in dogs. Tick-borne diseases are also common in dogs. Apart from this, there are many fungal diseases that occur in dogs. Thus, we need to give dogs’ proper vaccination along with good nutritious food and active playing sessions to make them stay fit and healthy.
